Getting things done

By now, you probably all know I’m a list kind of girl. I love lists. They save my sanity :)

I use 2 great (FREE) online tools:

** teuxdeux.com is for my day-to-day to-do list. Easy to use, minimalist design, stable, no bells and whistles – just the way I like my apps. You check tasks off when you’re done, and all tasks that aren’t completed are automatically transferred to the following day.

** For longer term goals, I use Day Zero. The Challenge: Identify 101 goals you want to achieve and complete all tasks in 1001 days.

The great thing about the Day Zero website is, there’s a countdown timer and you can actually see the proportion of goals achieved.

If you’re wondering, here are some of my goals:

1. Be my own boss (DONE)
2. Visit Japan (DONE)
3. Go to Madagascar (planned for December 2010)
4. Reduce the number of emails in my inbox to 10 (down from 600+!!!!!) (DONE)
5. Host a big party

I highly recommend Teuxdeux and Day Zero if you need to get things done. Not procrastinating helps too haha.

Have a great weekend!

Going digital

In my ongoing effort to simplify my life, I’m thinking about ditching my subscription to the only print magazine I’ve subscribed to for a few years now (yes, it’s a home decor magazine; no surprise there). I just don’t have time to actually read the articles; I just quickly flip through the magazine but really I could do that for free at any library.

The only sources left for my occasional fix of beautiful photos will then be a handful of blogs and online magazines (preferably free). One of my favorite online magazines is Sweet Paul Magazine. The photos below are from their 1st issue and speak for themselves. Read the magazine here: Sweet Paul Magazine.

Girl crush: Sofia Boutella

I have a serious girl crush on dancer Sofia Boutella. And watching this video for the nth time reminded how out of shape I am. I’m probably somewhere between a marshmallow and Santa Claus on the fitness scale right now. I see a bootcamp in my near future. Definitely after I’m back from Japan. Have a great weekend!
