ABOUT ME

Hello!

Welcome to my blog! My name’s Hasina. I’m an avid artist who has a passion for art in all its form and I’m also a minimalist. Unlike many minimalist people/bloggers, I don’t have an incredible success story to share so you won’t read anything about how minimalism helped me do incredible things (lose weight, get out of debt, etc).

I do however believe that minimalism is a wonderful lifestyle for anyone who wants to do more in life than, say, spend their weekends shopping at the mall to buy more shoes and/or more decoration stuff for their house. My motto is less stuff, more life. I also believe that you shouldn’t have nothing in your house that you don’t consider to be BOTH useful AND beautiful. Life is too short to live with bad design (and bad food and bad wine. Or bad anything for that matter).

Though this blog is mostly a journal where I talk about my quest for simplicity (and not a medium to preach the gospel of minimalism), I hope it will show people that minimalism isn’t boring (or at least, doesn’t have to be), and that there’s so much more to minimalism than “boring” white interiors.

I was born in Madagascar (no, it’s not a fictional country and yes, lemurs exist for real). I grew up in France where I developed an unconditional love for all things made with butter and cheese… croissants, tartes, quiche lorraine, sablés, gratin, you name it. A million years ago, I lived in the US for a short while. I’m now living in Montreal where I spend my days thinking of ways to make my life better. Which includes turning my not so beautiful house into a fabulous abode. And surrounding myself with positive, creative people.

This blog is about my journey to a simpler, better life.

Thanks for visiting!

* “Fabulissime” simply means really fabulous in French.
